Right, so to be completely clear to those about to visit this page for the first time:
I'm 12 weeks pregnant. The baby is due around July 26 2009. My husband and I are delighted. We've just had the first ultrasound last week. It was amazing.
My little brain is getting used to the idea of being a mother. The effect is hard to describe - at once making me ecstatic, extremely happy and so freaked out, I'm nauseated.
Most people at my job don't know the news yet - I'm going to wait a few more weeks I think before spreading it around. Your discretion is appreciated.

CaroLyn, I'm sooo happy for you! btw- I'm not kidding- I sit next to the Executive Director of Lamaze International at work...they are right next to RAA (i know, aviation and childbirth- go so well together outside of the movie AIRPLANE)...I try to avoid their propoganda, but I'm happy to grab some stuff for you!
Staci, you're priceless. I would love Lamaze propaganda. At this point, I'm open to anything. :) Thanks in advance! Sounds like an interesting office environment you're in...
Congratulations, dearie!!! You guys are going to make extraordinary parents. And I certainly hope that baby likes to dance!!!
CJ!!!!!! Why didn't you call and blast Texts and scream about this!! This is the best news all year!! Congrats, I am soooo happy for you and Alex
Woohoo! Congratulations, Breeder. Heh.
Aw shucks. We're just being a bit mellow about it. We are very excited though.
LOL I can't BELIEVE it!!!
Oh, and congratulations!!!
I am So, So, Excited about your news!!!!
I still remember being at your parents wedding - I was like 12 year old!
Love you and congrats on the news! Love, cousin Kathy
Hi there. i work with S.M so I also know the lamaze folks -- very nice people but I'm going to do Bradley and / or birthworks classes. Your early posts sound exactly like me. I was sooo sure I wanted to go the medicated route until I started researching. Do you visit dcurbanmom.com? If not, it's a great resource (though the women on there can be really mean). I also have a GREAT OB who is really (so far) supportive of going natural. He's no midwife, but he's reportedly very slow on the pitocin draw and prefers vaginal to c-section, and loved it when I said I was trying to forego the epidural. Malcolm De Souza in spring hill.
Cheers!
